Hi! I guess you’re here because you want to know a little bit more about LaTessa Montgomery. Well, here goes: 🙂
I’m a published author (women’s fiction), and writer of romance, urban fantasy, & poetry. I’ve earned several contest finals over the years and have been featured in a few newspaper articles, one of those being a USA Today feature. My debut published short story, “Found Rhythm” earned two award nominations, including “Debut Author of the Year”, from 7 DS Press.
My writing career started over 15 years ago after I’d reacquainted myself with romance novels. Unlike the first time around when I read romance, there were several brown and black authors whose books graced the shelves now. After seeing the diversity coming to the genre, my dream of wanting to see my name on the shelves along side them was born. I’ve been an active member of the the writing community over the years as a member of Romance Writers of America, River City Romance Writers, Georgia Romance Writers, and Savvy Authors. There is also my 7 year stint as Senior Reviewer Editor for Romance In Color where I first began developing relationships with so many of the authors who inspired me to give writing a try.
In addition to writing, I’m an accomplished business & marketing strategist, well versed in marketing and navigating the ever-changing online marketing & social networking avenues. I teach a series of workshops on a variety of topics (most recently including Scrivener, winning critique strategies, & navigating social media) geared towards helping writers both succeed at their craft and developing their platforms. When not writing, working, or teaching, I love traveling the world, exploring & gaining new experiences as The Spirited Traveler.
