Muse Music: Au Cinema

I’m in the “childbirth” phase of writing.  Yes, it is a painful as it sounds, but also as rewarding as it implies.  I’ve had ideas for 3 new stories to come to mind over the last month, or so.  In order to not lose the details of each idea, I’ve been working plotting and synopses.

For three.  Different. Stories. At. Once.

Yes, I am a mad woman right. Plotting is the hardest phase of writing for me.  I LOVE the brainstorming part–its fun.  You get to meet new characters, learn what makes them tick, and figure out specific tortures to put them through so they morph into the man or woman they were always meant to be.

Then there’s plotting…  Trying to take all this fun stuff you’ve come up with, add in the proper beats and tenion, strengthen the weak spots, removed the bits that won’t work (which are ALWAYS the ones you really, really want to keep) and then put it all in a logical (or purposeful illogical) sequence that grips the reader and keeps them onboard until the end of the ride.

Like I said, it’s akin to childbirth.  At least for me.

While working on one of my new babies this weekend, its theme song revealed itself.  Something about this song’s vibe and flow  fits together so well for my two lead characters.  This is the song in my head when I think of them and their upcoming journey.  I present:   “Au Cinena” by Lianne La Havas.
