Today, I learned Francis Ray, NY Times and USA Today best selling author of AA romance and fiction, has passed away. I am incredibly saddened by this news. I’m honored to have met Ms. Ray several times over the years. She was always gracious, always smiling, and always had time to share a pearl or two of wisdom with me.
My first time meeting her was back in 2008. She was in town on a book signing tour and agreed to let me interview her for RIC. I sat off quietly to the side (well, as quiet as I can be) with my notebook and camera and watched her interact with her fans (some of whom had driven a couple of hours to see her) for as long as they were there. And every time I ran into after that, she always had that lovely smile of hers on and gave me a hug.
Ms. Ray, I will always remember you for the kind and gentle soul I knew you to be. I’ve enjoyed your work over the years and have doubly enjoyed introducing your titles to those that had not heard of you, and getting them hooked. 🙂
You will be missed Ms. Ray.

A wonderful tribute to a wonderful woman.
And yes, she will be missed.
